Peace and blessings Karl Phillips, ETA squad and BU Family.
My BU journey started in November when I was on the verge of suicide. I was not happy with where my life was. I was tired of being average and not operating in a realm where I had autonomy. I was still hurt from a layoff I suffered in 2012 and from having to put my business on hold to find a job. As I was seeking counseling, I sought out motivation via YouTube and came across a video from Eric Thomas. Not knowing who he was or where he came from,
I began to watch video after video. I got to the point where I decided to leave my job to pursue the development of YBConnects full time. Before taking that step, I purchased the Dr. Thomas Collection and listened to the cds every single day. I listened so much that my two daughters were able to recite ET's talks and the rap verses that Kale did on track 5 disk 1.
I made the leap of faith January 1st and right after that God laid on my heart to bring ET to Richmond. Not knowing what steps to take, I eventually was led to a guy in Richmond who said he was being mentored by ET. Keep in mind, he mentioned this to me not knowing that God had placed it on my heart to bring ET to RVA. Eventually, I was connected to CJ and we spoke about the desire that was placed on my heart. CJ challenged me to be one who follows up because 90% of people never follow up and he told me "don't be part of the 90%". Coming from NY, I don't take challenges lightly, so from there I decided to attend the ASPW Tour in St. Louis. The impact was amazing and I joined BU right after.
Since joining BU, I have been challenged to self assess like never before. I am overcoming a serious case of procrastination and not finishing what I start. But with the help of the BU Mastermind call, one on one talks with ET, CJ, Karl, Ashante, Cameo and LaShanna, I have been able to take baby steps towards becoming more accountable.
I asserted myself into the BU community immediately and thanks to guidance from Pierre Evans, Rasheme Kilburn, Patrick Pete and Brandon Middleton I have learned how to add value to the community.
It is a blessing being part of this phenomenal community and the fact that I am growing closer and closer to the family is amazing.
The single best thing I love about BU is that everyone is focused on improvement. As I strive to be better today than I was yesterday, i find solace in knowing that I can add value and it be appreciated by others.
Love you guys!
