Multitasking at the Park!

It’s finally nice out and if you are anything like me you love to be outside. I feel almost guilty if I am not taking advantage of the nice days in Michigan. So, during the summer the kids and I spend a lot of time outside and at the park.

The park used to be a place where I would bring my books and read while the kids played, but when I became more serious about working out everything became an opportunity to be workout equipment and the park became my summer gym. It can be yours too.

So, there are many things to do at the park to workout with your children or while the kids are playing. Here are a few ideas for you!

— Park workouts!
— Tag (chasing kids up, down, and all around)
— Use the swings as TRX bands (push-ups, abs,)
— Monkey bar pull-ups, sit-ups, leg-ups
— Unstable bridge for squats and baby throws
— While pushing your toddler on the swings
— Jumping jacks in between swing pushes
— Jumping jacks with a squat in between swing pushes
— Lunges in between swing pushes
— Squats with a peek a boo while pushing the baby swing
— On the slide or a bench
— Incline push-ups using the bottom of the slide
— Decline push-ups using the bottom of the slide for you feet
— Single leg lunges using the bottom of the slide to hold up one leg
— Toe taps

The point is just to get outside and get moving. Get out, spend some time with the kiddos, and get your workout in while doing so.
