“Sometimes to make a milestone a reality, you gotta get it done by twos.” -Eric Thomas
WHAT UP, WHAT UP, WHAT UP, WHAT UP, it’s ya boy ET! Remember what I told you? “Repetition deepens the impression.” This is the year to embrace our milestones! The power of one is great, but there is strength in numbers. NO MAN is an island. As long as I was doing it by myself I could never get my dissertation done. My life changed the day I met with Dr. June and told him I wanted to get it done, and that I needed his help to do it!
Accountability partners are crucial. The day you find someone just as passionate about your goal to hold you accountable, will be the day you make your first permanent step towards success. Making a COMMITMENT to your accountability partner about YOUR goal will make the milestone realistically attainable. Make NO excuses, do exactly what you say you are going to do. You must allow yourself to be vulnerable in order to openly expose yourself to constructive criticism that will cultivate personal growth.
Are you willing to allow yourself to be vulnerable in order to progress to the next level?
Do you have a friend who could act as an accountability partner/life coach?
Are you willing to make a commitment to your partner and maintain a realistic schedule?
“Talent wins games, but teamwork and intelligence wins championships.” -Michael Jordan
There are three important things that you need to understand and implement in order to reach your milestone(s):
Never be afraid to be vulnerable when you have an opportunity for personal growth.
Make a commitment to both your goal and to your accountability partner.
Open communication and trust are necessary when choosing an accountability partner.
Make a list of three individuals that you trust with your dreams. Have a conversation with each of them and discuss exactly what it is that you want to accomplish. After the conversation, decide which of these individuals will serve best as a life coach and accountability partner for the specific milestone you are trying to reach.
