TGIM | NOT ALL GIFTS COME WRAPPED

November 27, 2016

What up! What up! What up! It’s your boy ET! Look I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I have a powerful message for you all this week. Many of you think, “Every Gift Comes Wrapped” What does this mean ET? Many of you have natural gifts, or talents. Your great at math, it comes easy. You’re a great artist, it comes easy. I’m not saying you don’t have to study and practice your craft, but when it’s your gift you might pick it up faster than others or you might perform well above others with minimal effort, but what happens when you’re asked to do something that’s not apart of your wheel house? NOT EVERY GIFT COMES WRAPPED! I was born to be a speaker. I could always speak, I became better when I studies and practiced. As I begin to speak more, opportunities began to come my way. I was asked to do voice-over work. It was then I learned that just because I could speak well, didn’t mean it would translate into other arenas. I was terrible at voice-over work. Being isolated in a booth, speaking into a microphone and asked to enunciate words properly was not easy. I had to work hard, and through trial and error, practice and sheer will, I’ve received multiple opportunities to do NBA, NFL, CORPORATE voice over and now RUGBY, The ALL BLACKS one of the TOP rugby teams from New Zealand. Look I didn’t know I had that in me. That gift did not come wrapped in pretty paper and a bow, but through hard work I developed a new skill and I’m growing in an entirely different area. What are you struggling with? Step back and figure out how you can begin to dominate in this new area. It’s not easy, but if it was everyone would do it. It’s your boy ET! See you next week.
